Marcel Breuer

Marcel Breuer’s furniture and architecture reflects the modern movement, and being a protégé of Bauhaus, his work reconciles art and industry. His iconic Wassily chair, one of his first designs, is particularly pertinent to this movement. Similarly, with his tubular-steel furniture collection designed whilst at the Bauhaus, he transformed the modern interior. This collection was inspired by bicycle construction and made using techniques of local plumbers.
