Normann Copenhagen UK

The Normann Copenhagen story began in 1999 when Jan Andersen and Poul Madsen teamed up with the shared desire to make a difference in the design industry. In 2002 they launched their first product - the Norm 69 lamp.

The Norm 69 lamp was designed in 1969 by Simon Karkov. He studied the constructional design and patterns in nature, which led to the inspiration behind the Norm 69 lamp - pine cones and flowers. The lamp had a huge amount of research, testing and experimentation behind its design and each of its 69 pieces was carefully considered. However, even after all this work, the lamp was left in a loft where it remained hidden and unknown.

In 2001, a chance meeting saw an acquaintance of Simon Karkov seeing the potential for a collaboration with start-up company Normann Copenhagen. Due to the meticulous design process, the Norm 69 lamp stood the test of time.

Many other new products then followed and in 2009 Normann Copenhagen introduced furniture designs. Normann Copenhagen furniture is highly desirable, with the colour schemes often reflecting on-trend colours on the catwalk. The Normann Copenhagen Ace sofa comes in fashionable dark red, dark blue or grey velour velvet amongst other on-trend colours.

Normann Copenhagen is not just about aesthetic beauty and high quality - it is forward thinking, problem solving and responds to trends. The Normann Copenhagen Ace collection was designed to appeal to young, urban dwellers. Surprisingly, the upholstered furniture is flat-pack - but with a difference - this furniture will be assembled in minutes with no compromise to the design or the quality.
