Muuto Chairs

Muuto was founded in 2008 by Kristian Byrne and Peter Bonnen, who recognised that many design houses were producing more past Scandinavian designs than creating new designs. Muuto saw the creative need to start bringing more original designs to the market.

The expression ‘muuto’ is Finnish and means ‘opening up to new perspectives’. Designed by David Geckeler, the Muuto Nerd chair is a true example of this vision - a modern take on the traditional wooden Nordic chair. This award-winning Muuto chair is equally as stunning used as a solo piece or as a dining chair around a dining table as a real talking point.

Crafted from the highest quality materials, the Muuto Nerd chair won the Becker’s International Design Award in 2011 and was also named as the winner of the Muuto Talent Award.

Muuto recognise that the key to making sustainable furniture that sells is to ensure the designs are also luxurious and desirable, believing that sustainability shouldn’t mean a compromise on quality, function and design. The Muuto Fiber chair, for example, was designed by Iskos-Berlin by using recyclable plastic and wood fibres. This is a chic, minimalist designer chair with a conscience.

The Muuto Fiber side chair comes in a variety of bases including tube, wood, swivel or sled base and you can also choose from a selection of colours. The Muuto Fiber chair family also features a comfortable armchair design. With such a choice, you are bound to find the perfect Muuto chairs for your home, dining table or conference table.

If you are looking for a Muuto lounge chair, the Muuto Oslo lounge chair by Anderssen and Voll for Muuto is an instant classic that can either accompany the Muuto Oslo sofa range or stand alone in any home, lobby or office space.
