Vitra's Wooden Doll collection was realised by Alexander Girard in post-war America. Girard's source of inspiration came from his passion for poular art of South Amercia, Asia and Europe. Alongside Charles and Ray Eames and George Nelson, Alexander Girard created these Wooden Dolls originally for his home in Santae Fe. Half decorative, half toy, the Wooden Dolls (partly joyful, partly grim) add a charming enhancement to any interior.
